After an absence of eleven years, Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) is set to officially re-launch its New York office located at the Consulate General of New York in New York city. The re-establishment of a dedicated office is part of the Agency’s strategy to increase business and other opportunities for Jamaicans in the diaspora while looking to boost investments in Jamaica.
In seeking to tap new markets for Jamaican products and growth of exports in North America, JAMPRO is collaborating with private and public sector agencies such as the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association and the American Chamber of Commerce to jointly achieve 20 per cent growth in exports over the next three years.
Vivion Scully, Manager for JAMPRO’s North America’s Regional Offices based in Toronto, Canada points out that JAMPRO’s regional offices have a two-fold mandate; they not only operate as an extension of JAMPRO in the respective markets to facilitate and leverage opportunities for trade in goods and services but they are also tasked with identifying and driving more foreign direct investments (FDI) from these markets into Jamaica.
The re-opening of the JAMPRO New York office comes against the background of an increasing number of significant enquiries from business interests in the Diaspora seeking investment projects in Jamaica and from manufacturers in Jamaica seeking export opportunities for their products.

• In-market visits; facilitate inward missions and delegations.
