USAIN BOLT’S DREAM COMES TRUE

As if the achievement of being an eight-time Olympic gold medalist and being acknowledged as the world’s fastest human was not enough, Usain Bolt is about to embark on a new career as a professional footballer.

Bolt will shortly begin training with the Australian A-League club, Central Coast Mariners for what club officials describes as ‘an indefinite period’. While the deal does not guarantee a contract, the World and Olympic record holder  is confident that with hard work and training he would achieve his dream to play football. Bolt reminds his fans “I don’t think limits” which was his mantra during his successful sprinting career

For its part, the management of Central Coast Mariners says having Bolt join the club was not a stunt or gimmick but one that aligns with its philosophy of being innovative, entertaining and community-minded. The Mariners finished at the bottom of the league last season and clearly hope that Bolt can help them change their fortunes.

That will not come easily or happen overnight. The sprinting superstar previously trained with German giant Borussia Dortmond after which the club’s head coach Peter Stroget said Bolt had a lot to do should he wish to pursue football. However, Mariner’s Chief Executive, Shaun Mielekamp is undaunted and is quoted as saying Bolt was a good learner and had shown dramatic improvement in each training session.
