National Anthem
Eternal Father bless our land
Guard us with Thy mighty hand;
Keep us free from evil powers
Be our light through countless hours.
To our leaders Great Defender,
Grant us true wisdom from above.
Justice, Truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love,
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love.
Teach us true respect for all,
Stir response to duty’s call;
Strengthen us the weak to cherish,
Give us vision lest we perish.
Knowledge send us heavenly Father,
Grant us true wisdom from above,
Justice, Truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love.
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love.
Coat of Arms. Inscription under should read:
On the scroll is the national motto, ‘Out of Many, One People’; a male and female Taino India stand on the scroll on either side of the shield to represent the island’s original people while the five pineapples represent the Jamaican tradition of hospitality. On the crest is the Jamaican crocodile and the cross on the shield is a representation of Jamaica’s past association with England.
